Briefing Nord Stream - Threats to international peace and security

Madam President,

I take note of Mr Greene's and Mr Brodsky's comments.

As we have mentioned in the past, we are concerned by the alleged acts of sabotage against the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, which led to worrying gas leaks last September.

I reiterate Switzerland's condemnation of all acts of sabotage against critical infrastructure, including energy infrastructure and their consequences for the supply of the population, the economy and the environment.

We welcome the information provided in the joint letter from Denmark, Germany and Sweden dated July 10. As indicated in this letter, the respective national investigations are ongoing in order to shed light on the facts. We look forward to their conclusions.
